Shirley was born Erline Williams. She took the name Shirley for School. She first married Gary Smith and had 3 Children: Pamela, Valentina, and Gary. She then Married Parish Lee Tanner. He adopted the 3 older children and then they had 2 more, Alice and Parish Jr. She has taken William "Bill" Pete as her life partner. Together they are raising their Great Grand Child Maria. She is the daughter of Donna Phillips (child of Pamela).
